Rainbow Smelt are not native to the Great Lakes, and are considered a "Best Choice" sustainable sea food by SeaFood Watch because they may compete with native species. Extremely rich in Omega-3 fatty acids, and low in mercury, smelt are a great treat for both dogs and cats! Smelt are sold by the ounce, you will receive more than a dozen smelt per ounce.
